The idea for Reiver Bees started initially from a request for a little assistance from David’s father-in-law one day “as you have a bee suit with your pest control”. From that day on, David’s love of bees grew. This quickly developed into buying a first hive, and has progressed on to carrying out live honeybee extractions and running multiple apiaries. Eventually, the need to separate the two distinct businesses became apparent. 

Being able to trace David’s family roots in the northern fells of the Lake District back to the Reivers and well beyond, and indeed still having a small parcel of land there, the name seemed obvious. Albeit, we try to ensure our bees are significantly less aggressive than their namesakes!
